We love babywearing, it makes life so much easier, and now we can even wear Ryan in the water! For my review, I was sent the WateRoo carrier from Lucky Ducky Baby. This was created by a mama of 5 girls. She was trying to teach her toddler to swim, but had a baby in a floaty she couldn’t take her eyes off of. She was also showering with the littlest–because how else do you get shower time?! I only have one kid and I know how that goes. She entered a Huggies MomInspired contest with her idea of this wrap and… she won! What an awesome story.

This carrier is made for the water, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be used day-to-day, outside of the water. It’s made of a soft quick-dry mesh… the same type you’d find in athletic apparel.

Wraps are probably my favorite type of carriers for babies. They’re really versatile–lots of ways you can wrap them, they’re easily adjustable (especially for nursing), and they’re comfortable. I think they’re the best way to keep a baby close, which is actually part of the name of this wrap! The “Roo” on the end is for the kangaroo type hold that this wrap allows.

It comes with instructions on how to use/wrap it, but I promise it’s really easy. Practice a couple times and you’ll have it down, no problem.

Look how comfy! My suggestions for this wrap: it’s a stretchy material so wrap tightly (it’ll loosen a little with the weight of your baby) and start out with your baby higher up on your chest than would be comfortable to actually wear. Once you finish wrapping and fully release your baby to “sit” in the wrap, they’ll slide down a bit with the stretch. Then they’ll be in the perfect spot!

This wrap is for babies from 7 to 25 lb. Ryan is about 24 lb, so right near the cut-off and it still works great. We wore it in the pool last week! AND I’m 17 weeks preggo ;) It’s just SO nice to have your hands free and be carrying your baby. This wrap will be awesome to have when the new baby comes early next year, too.

Aqua Leisure review & giveaway

Aqua Leisure is a family-owned business that has been around since 1970 and they’ve quickly grown to become America’s leading producer of swim gear and aquatic leisure products. But that’s not all they have! They’ve added Swimschool ( a learn-to-swim system), Sunsmart (shade products), Uncle Bob’s inflatables for winter fun, Spray Zone (water activities) and First Fitness (to promote healthy childhood activities).

Aqua Leisure should be a name you recognize–you can find their products at Walmart, Toys-R-Us, Walgreens, etc. and I know we have quite a few items in our house.

This summer we were sent the foam pad swim trainer for review.

This swim trainer is recommended for ages 3-5, but Ryan is only (almost) 2 and it has worked just fine for him! It’s for 25-40 pounds. There are 2 sides and my favorite feature is that it has removable foam pads for different levels of learning. You can leave all the pads in (9 total) for maximum buoyancy or slowly remove some as your child gets more comfortable in the water.

There are side straps and a crotch strap for an adjustable fit that help keep the pads close and keep it from riding up–which was one of my worries.

The whole thing is soft and comfortable for your child to wear. I definitely think this is a useful tool in teaching your child to swim and just get comfortable in the water. It’s not too huge and bulky, doesn’t ride up and hit the face (like life jackets tend to do), and is adjustable with removable pads.

Sometimes Ryan insists he NOT wear this thing–as any toddler would do–but other times he loves it (ah the mind of a child) and we haven’t had any problems with it.

You can get it on Amazon (or many of your local stores)!

GIVEAWAY: one lucky winner will get their own foam pad swim trainer from Aqua Leisure! Please use the form below to enter.
