Lotus Bumz was started in order to provide people with a more affordable cloth diaper option. They have adorable cloth diapers in solid colors and patterns and you can buy individually or in packs of 12 or 24. Lotus Bumz also sells wet bags and extra inserts.

For our review, we were sent a solid Pretty in Pink cloth diaper. Ryan’s diapers are mainly blues, greens and reds (he has one pink). With a baby girl on the way, I want more pinks in our collection! But of course Ryan can wear pink too (real men do, ya know) and he loved it:
This one-size pocket diaper has waterproof PUL on the outside, soft suede cloth lining on the inside, and comes with a 3-layer microfiber insert. To help achieve the perfect fit for all sizes in one diaper, there are 3 rows of snaps, hip snaps to prevent the sides from drooping, and waist tab overlaps.
I asked Ryan to show my his bottom and he tried to roll to his side and stick out his butt, haha, it was cute. So then I told him to stand up and show me his bottom and I think that’s a better picture for you  But I had to include both because he’s too cute! And so is his fluffy bum!
PROS: the diaper is cute! It’s super adjustable for a great fit and we’ve had no problems with any leaking. The inside of the diaper is really soft and the insert is absorbent. Overall, the diaper works very well and it will definitely stay in our rotation and be used often.
CONS: there’s only one. I think the pocket opening in the diaper is a little narrow. It’s definitely more narrow than the insert and it’s almost difficult to get it in and out. I’m okay with my small hands, but my husband has a little bit of a harder time. If the opening was just a liiiiiitle bit wider, it’d be great.

Waxelene is a perfect petroleum jelly alternative: it’s all-natural (my favorite product feature). It contains no petroleum and has only natural and organic ingredients… actually, to be exact, only FOUR ingredients: organic soy oil, beeswax, natural vitamin E oil, and organic rosemary oil.
Waxelene comes in glass jars that can be recycled–no plastic! And they’re cute with the little bees flying around the labels. What can you use this stuff for? Anything you’d use petroleum jelly (or vaseline) for! Use it on your skin for moisture, protection or lubrication, add it to your hair, put it on after being in the sun, make it a safe aftershave, add shine to your lips, use on your baby’s bum to reduce irritation…. and SO much more!
But now for the test…. how does it compare to petroleum jelly? Will I like it? Ummm…. I LOVE IT. If you’re a normal blog reader of mine, you know by now that our family loves all-natural products and we try to buy them whenever possible. Products that go on your skin (and therefore enter your body)? MOST IMPORTANT. Especially when used on our child’s body!
First, this stuff has a lovely scent. It’s kind of like… honey… and wheat… and all-natural. I could eat it.
(Side note – I just had to get up and go get a jar to put on my lips, just because I was thinking about it. For real.)
I keep the small 2oz jar in my diaper bag and another in my purse. The larger 9oz jar is on Ryan’s changing table–this stuff is awesome for his skin, too. If his bottom is getting a little red from a diaper, on goes the Waxelene. Dry hands in winter? Waxelene. Chapped lips? Waxelene. Annoying cuticles? Waxelene. Foot rub?! Waxelene! Get the point?
More positives: it’s really smooth and a little more greasy/thin (compared to petroleum jelly), but this means a little bit goes a loooong way. I barely touch the stuff when I use it on my lips. A tiny bit more? Covers my hands. And: no GMOs, biodegradable, water/sweat resistant, goes on clear, and is not tested on animals.

Healthy Child Healthy World is an amazing organization. Their mission is simple: “We ignite the movement that empowers parents to protect children from harmful chemicals.” They inspire and inform others to take action… to create safer, cleaner, and greener environments. There is no reason to comprise the health and safety of our little ones. Educate yourselves!

Using safe and natural sunscreens has been really important to us since Ryan was born–including using it on ourselves. GO!screen is an all-natural mineral powder sunscreen for kids and adults and is Ryan’s favorite, by far.
WHY is it Ryan’s favorite?? Because it’s a powder… you use a brush to put it on. See, Ryan LOVES brushes. He watches his mama put on make-up and is constantly stealing my brushes and rubbing them on his face and my face and daddy’s face… it’s the cutest thing.
And he HATES lotions. He absolutely will not stand still to allow us to put liquid sunscreen on him. We end up missing spots, slapping it on wherever we can get it–and then Ryan wipes at it and it’s on his hands, which means soon in his mouth. You get the idea.
 But a powder sunscreen with a BRUSH?! Ryan puts it on himself! When you first put it on, you can kind of see the powder so you know you’re covering everything. The brush also makes it REALLY fast and easy to apply, especially on the face.
To use it, you just push the little dispenser button on the bottom and it releases powder into the brush–the more you push the button, the more powder you get. The brush twists up when you want to use it or down when you’re done to put the cap back on.
