When I was pregnant with Rebecca, I remembered Ryan’s newborn days and how often he sat at the breast, nursing constantly. I wondered how in the world can I do that again with a toddler running around?! Ryan needs me constantly, so I can’t also be constantly stuck on the couch nursing. It was one of . . . → Read More: KoalaKin hands-free breastfeeding pouch

We love babywearing, it makes life so much easier, and now we can even wear Ryan in the water! For my review, I was sent the WateRoo carrier from Lucky Ducky Baby. This was created by a mama of 5 girls. She was trying to teach her toddler to swim, but had a baby in a floaty she couldn’t take her eyes off of. She was also showering with the littlest–because how else do you get shower time?! I only have one kid and I know how that goes. She entered a Huggies MomInspired contest with her idea of this wrap and… she won! What an awesome story.
This carrier is made for the water, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be used day-to-day, outside of the water. It’s made of a soft quick-dry mesh… the same type you’d find in athletic apparel.

Wraps are probably my favorite type of carriers for babies. They’re really versatile–lots of ways you can wrap them, they’re easily adjustable (especially for nursing), and they’re comfortable. I think they’re the best way to keep a baby close, which is actually part of the name of this wrap! The “Roo” on the end is for the kangaroo type hold that this wrap allows.
It comes with instructions on how to use/wrap it, but I promise it’s really easy. Practice a couple times and you’ll have it down, no problem.

Look how comfy! My suggestions for this wrap: it’s a stretchy material so wrap tightly (it’ll loosen a little with the weight of your baby) and start out with your baby higher up on your chest than would be comfortable to actually wear. Once you finish wrapping and fully release your baby to “sit” in the wrap, they’ll slide down a bit with the stretch. Then they’ll be in the perfect spot!
This wrap is for babies from 7 to 25 lb. Ryan is about 24 lb, so right near the cut-off and it still works great. We wore it in the pool last week! AND I’m 17 weeks preggo It’s just SO nice to have your hands free and be carrying your baby. This wrap will be awesome to have when the new baby comes early next year, too.

Kelty has been providing reliable and affordable outdoor gear since 1952! I love this company because they have so much to offer for everyone–from beginners to the experienced pro. I’d consider myself somewhere in the middle I love the outdoors and some of my best memories from growing up are camping and visiting the “north woods” to go fishing and hiking. I can’t wait to pass on those traditions to Ryan!
Kelty has all types of backpacks, tents and shelters, sleeping bags and pads, chairs, tables, kitchen essentials, bags, child carriers, items for kids (backpacks, sleeping bags, strollers, diaper bags), clothing and lighting. There are so many products that I am just drooling over and are on my “want” list!
For my review, I was sent the Kelty FC 3.0 child carrier. Oh.my.goodness. I have SO MUCH to say about this thing, I love it! And so does Ryan:

Features:
*5-point adjustable harness
*auto-deploy kickstand
*no-pinch hinges
*sun hood
*under-seat storage area and backpack area that includes a changing pad
*height of child’s seat is adjustable and padded
*loops to hang toys
*lightweight aluminum frame
*padded waist belt, shoulder straps and back panel
*storage pockets in the waist belt
It has a 50-pound weight limit, but I personally can’t imagine carrying around a 50-pound child in this thing! LOL. But I’m sure my husband would. Right now Ryan weighs about 27 pounds and it’s a good workout, but definitely still do-able for me. The amazing padding on this thing make it easier–as well as all the straps to help secure it in place and keep it balanced.

I had to make that collage to show off all the great features–and those are just some of them. We are going camping with Ryan for the FIRST TIME this coming weekend!!! I’m so excited for him to experience it, I can hardly stand it! And you bet I’ll be bringing the Kelty carrier with me, it’s perfect!
Another thing I love about this carrier is the kickstand that auto-deploys. It basically makes this carrier a chair when you take it off and aren’t using it. And Ryan LOVES chairs so he loves to just sit in this thing! It’s hilarious. And it will be great for camping!

I love how there’s a “bottom” to Ryan’s seat that lets him rest his feet. He really looks comfy in there! It has mesh sides and is nice and breathable. The carrier itself only weighs about 7 pounds so it’s not bad. If you have it on correctly and tightened properly in all the right places, it’s easy to wear and really fun!
I have to hide it from Ryan around the house because otherwise he insists on getting in and having me carry him around haha. If you’re wondering how in the world I get this thing on with him in it, I just set it up on something–a coffee table, a chair, etc–and then put Ryan in so that I can just kind of crouch a little to get it over my shoulders and stand up with Ryan in it, ready to go!
You can buy your own for $249.95 or WIN ONE HERE!!! Enter the GIVEAWAY by filling out the form below! One lucky winner will get this Kelty FC 3.0 carrier. It comes in blue, curry, green and black.

Sugar Sweet Baby is owned and operated by a mom of three (as of Feb 20th, Congrats!). Being a work at home mom, she understands how important it can be to free up a set of hands! Sugar Sweet Baby specializes in selling 70/30 bamboo/cotton wraps, which are super soft and durable. The company believes strongly in the benefits of babywearing–as do I!!!–including better milk production, convenience when running errands or working around the house, soothing colic and many others.
Personally, I love babywearing to keep my baby close! Especially when he gets in those moods where he just wants to be held or is getting sleepy. I can go about the house doing cleaning, laundry, cooking… and Ryan stays happy
Ryan has been a Sugar Sweet Baby since he was a few months old! I was having issues getting Ryan to stop crying and go to sleep. The lovely Lara saw my pain on twitter and suggested one of her wraps to help calm and soothe him! At the time, I had a ring sling and a pouch, but Ryan hated them, which made me hate them. The wrap we received was heaven-sent. The picture below was taken the very first time I used it–and he fell asleep! I loved that the fabric was stretchy and easily adjustable so I could simply pull that part up to support his head while he slept… awwwww.

Since then he has grown a little more independent…

“Ryan! Come here, mama wants to wear you!!!”
But he still loves to cuddle up with his momma… he’s 14 months old and the wrap still works great!

For the baby shower, Sugar Sweet Baby generously donated their “Bamboo Baby Wrap Black with Black and Cream Floral.” It was produced in an eco-friendly factory, provides UV protection and is really soft and super cute!

There are other great products at Sugar Sweet Baby including leggings to protect little knees (we loved these when Ryan started crawling) and mini-wraps for little ones to put their dolls in for imaginary play.
GIVEAWAY:
ONE amazingly lucky Baby Shower Gift Guide winner takes ALL! This will include a $50 GC to Sugar Sweet Baby! *We’re choosing a winner on SATURDAY, March 12th!*
