Do you the names of all your neighbors? Half of your neighbors?! When I started thinking about it, I was a little shocked to realize I only knew the names of two on my whole street. And one of those families I knew growing up so it doesn’t really count.
A survey conducted in June 2011 by Harris Interactive (on behalf of WhitePages) found that more people (47%) could identify their neighbor’s cars than their neighbor’s first names (41%) and that more people (27%) could name their neighbor’s pets than their neighbor’s kids (24%)!!! As a mom, I find that super sad! I’d hope for a neighborhood to be able to look out for each other… right? How can you do that without knowing their names?! But I’m guilty of that too. What about you?
Today a new product launched called “Neighbors.” It’s the first satellite aerial map of U.S. neighborhood contact information. This info includes first and last name, mailing address, other household members and phone number. The goal? To help neighbors get in touch more effectively and easily!
All of this is public information anyway–but if you want privacy, you are free to edit your listing however you’d like. I think this is an awesome tool for neighborhood safety, in cases of emergency, planning parties, organized committees like a neighborhood watch, etc. It’s REALLY easy to use too–just visit the site, type in your address, and your neighborhood pops up on the screen. Then you can use the site to send out invites, for free! (WhitePages covers the cost). **SUNDAY (7/24) is the last day to get your Block Party invites in time for the National Night Out Block Party on August 2nd!** Check out this how-to video:
Want to try it out?!?! Visit: WhitePages Neighbors

I learned 82 new neighbors by using the white pages’ tool.
I think I would throw a back to school party
Considering I hardly know my neighbors, more names came up than I could count. I did learn the name of my neighbor 2 doors down whom I’ve spoken with before and was too embarrassed to ask her name again.
I was able to find the names of about 26 neighbors!!

I learned the names of 15 neighbors.
I found at least 25 names in the immediate area, but total was 117.
I would have to have some sort of sober BBQ maybe with a bouncy blow- up castle for the kids!
I would plan a big BBQ party if I won.
I learned 105 neighbors names!
I’d do a block party BBQ, close down the block and have yard games!
I visited neighbors and learned about 26 names. I actually know a lot of my neighbors because they attend the same church as me, but I didn’t know them all! I’d say I knew around 50 of the total 76 that came up. Not too bad. And I did see the name of a doctor I’ve been to before. I had know idea she lives right around the corner from me! Hahaha!
With $100 I’d plan a water party n someones backyard. There are a lot of big yards in our neighborhood and it’s hot! It’d buy water balloons and slip-n-slides and the like and host a backyard water party. I think that the kids would actually want to come to that!
I learned 8 names from the houses surrounding us.
I learned the names of 15 neighbors.
I’d plan a barbecue with group games such as volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
I learned 2 new names.
I’d plan a grill out with all kind of yummy food
6 New neighbors thanks
I would have a pot luck barbeque
I had 91 neighbors on the list.
109 Neighbors and I only know 5 of them! Time for a party!
I would have a backyard BBQ~
learned several new names. that is a really neat tool.
