Guidecraft Toy Chest giveaway {$175 value!}

We previously reviewed a Work Bench from Guidecraft that Ryan totally loves (he opens the drawer and hides stuff in there all the time!) so we were really excited about this Toy Chest. Ryan’s toys have taken over our house… his stuff took over before he was even born! Storage spaces are a must have and there are a few reasons I love this white Spindle Toy Chest:

*safety hinge catch so the top stays open and doesn’t slam shut on fingers
*what about babies that like to slam things shut? no worries! there’s a cut out area to prevent smashed fingers
*the top can be used as a seating area
*it has spaces to fill in your own photos, which helps personalize it!
*lots of storage area
*dividers to sort your toys
*wheels that can be removed (we don’t use ours)
*it’s all wood… quality!

When the box arrived, it was badly damaged and torn apart. When I opened it up, while the chest had been packaged nicely, it was scratched up. When I brought this to their attention, Guidecraft immediately sent another one–seriously, it was here like 2 days later. And it was perfect! (Can’t blame Guidecraft for mishandling by UPS!)

That’s the hubby putting it together. I will say that I tried and I ~~couldn’t figure it out~~ was too impatient with the directions. But really, the directions were pretty bad. Nothing was labeled and it was really confusing. But thankfully my engineering husband figured it out in no time {that’s why I married him}.

Plenty of space in there! And the dividers make it handy to sort books from stuffed animals from electronics, etc.

Finished! Pretty, right? (Okay, apart from those strangers in the picture slots, haha). But I wanted to make it a bit more boyish for Ryan and decorate it for his bedroom. Soooo… I put in some of Ryan’s pictures, added his name decal and some safari animal decals that match the theme of his nursery! I LOVE IT! I didn’t put any decals on the top because I still plan on making a cushion for it so Ryan can use it as a seat too!

I KNOW. I outdid myself, it looks amazing. I’m in love with it. (Don’t mind the colorful folded up tent that’s behind the toy chest–it’s not part of it, it’s just being stored back there!) And the inside…

Ok it doesn’t look that organized, but it is (kind of). Ryan LOVES to open and shut the chest over and over and over. Then he pulls everything out of it and sometimes puts everything back in. Oh my gosh, it keeps him occupied forever (and forever in baby time is about 15 minutes, which is awesome)! He has recently learned how to climb on top of the chest too and sit (or stand) up there–stinker!
