Guidecraft Work Bench giveaway

Guidecraft: creators of fine educational toys and furniture was started in 1964 in a small woodshop with about 10 items. Purchased in 1995 by the owner’s son, Guidecraft has grown and now has over 580 toys! But the mission remains the same: “stay true to the tradition of smart, beautifully crafted wood products, which allow children’s minds and imaginations room to truly wonder and grow.”

I was really excited to work with them and received two products (watch for the other review/giveaway coming up!). First is their Work Bench. It came packaged very nicely and was in great condition:

There weren’t too many pieces, so I didn’t get too overwhelmed, haha:

I have to say, the directions sucked. It’d say take “part B” but none of the parts were labeled. Thankfully there weren’t too many pieces and they all looked different so it was easy to figure out what went where and I was able to do it myself in not too much time. But it’s definitely a complaint of mine… I wish their directions were better. We all know parents don’t have time to spare!

Once it was all put together, it was awesome:

Cute, right?! I know Ryan can’t really use it for awhile but I picked it out anyway because I know he’ll love it. Actually, he already does. The pieces on top all come off–the tools and screws and wood blocks–and Ryan loves to play with (= chew on) those. AND he’s just learning to stand up and this is the perfect size to grab onto and pull himself up! Don’t worry, we secured it against the wall so it won’t fall over on him!!

And I know when he’s just a bit older, he’ll have so much fun with this. There’s a little drawer to store stuff and you can hang the tools on the top too. There are holes on the surface where those colored pegs and wood blocks are–so he can hammer or screw in the pieces. I love the size and the bright colors, my husband loves that it’s all made out of wood.
